Try and work for as long as possible, and it may necessitate even changing your job to suit your illness, especially if your job was very physical.

If you are unable to cope, then contact Centrelink and find out what you need to do in regard to disability pension. If you are caring for someone with a chronic illness and require the Carer's pension or allownace then again contact Centrelink and they will help you. Also speak to your doctor, or the renal unit of the hospital you or your partner may attend.
