Accommodation

As a service to all Kidney Support members we have available for a nominal fee three one bedroom units at Fairfield Lodge, 270 Annerley Road, Annerley. The Units are 1km from the Princess Alexandra Hospital but only a short drive to other major Brisbane hospitals.

Each unit accommodates two people and are available for kidney patients and their carer/escort when they are in Brisbane for treatment.

Each unit contains

- A fully equipped kitchette inclusive of crockery, cooking utensils, a fridge and gas stove.
- Colour television and digital clock radio.
- Twin beds but we do ask that you bring your own linen and towels. (Notify us if you cannot)
- Bath with overhead shower, basin and toilet.
- Shared laundry facilities with a coin operated machine.
- Close to bus, train, post office and convenience store with a larger shopping centre nearby.

Due to the popularity of the units we do give preference to kidney patients and their escorts needing emergency accommodation. We will, however, allow members short term rentals of the units during times of non-occupancy. This may be for short term holiday rentals for kidney patients or family members needing to be near relatives in hospital.

Costs

Standard rates are $30 per person per night.

Where possible we will assist patients and their carers to apply for financial assistance under the Patient Transport Subsidy Scheme (PTSS) or similar. Patients applying for PTSS will be required to pay $155 per week until conformation of PTSS approval.
